Join us for the 2016 Triangle UXPA World Usability Day daytime event celebration on November 10 at 8:30am sponsored by LexisNexis at the NCSU State Club for networking, breakfast, lunch, design activities, and a speaker! This daytime event is free, and is open to  both Triangle UXPA members as well as non-members.

The theme for 2016 is “Sustainable User Experience (UX)” or “Green UX.” Sustainability and UX design are innately intertwined since they are both about creating the best experience for people. Green processes and sustainable products take into account goals such as recycle, reuse and incremental improvement. It’s about taking existing products and services and developing ways to refine and redesign them to be more effective, efficient and reusable in ways that enhance a person’s life.

Our guest speaker is Milannee (Lani) St. Hill.   Lani is the Outreach Coordinator for the Waste Reduction and Recycling (WRR) Office of NC State University.  She works with students, staff and faculty to strategize, develop, and execute recycling programs. She orchestrates the WE Recycle, Carter-Finley Composts, and other activities designed to promote a culture of recycling and waste minimization on campus.

As the day approaches, ask yourself “is it me or the design?”  Your answer may be a starting point for improving user-friendliness and sustainability on a local and/or global scale.
